We had so much fun celebrating with the students that participated in our first Digital Storytelling Video Challenge. The students shared what they learned, some of their biggest obstacles, and the benefits of participating in the challenge.

The students grew a lot through this challenge as they learned some valuable life skills, such as:

• Discipline in learning a new skill
• How to be resilient in overcoming many challenges
• Perseverance
• How to collaborate and support each other

The success of these students is due in large part to the encouragement and support they received from their Art teacher, Ms. Yanique Dixon.  Ms. Dixon volunteered her entire summer supporting the students through the challenge. Her commitment to these students and their educational growth is exemplary!

The first place winner was Derrika and second place went to Trishann. Congratulations to all the students, they were all winners in our book.
